Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized the Russian player secured his first trophy for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a torrid season, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in specific - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with former coach his previous coach.
Currently working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
It is the player's first championship following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court from spring of that year.
The win also signifies he has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one distinct events.
"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is particularly special," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six finals, including in that event earlier this year.
The player's counter-punching play style and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted some to wonder if his capacity to compete at the top level was finished.
However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete aggressively, backed up by an improved serve.
Medvedev fought back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, securing four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his maiden professional victory, seized the initiative to push for a final set.
Moutet rescued 4 initial break points in a close deciding set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, Medvedev secured victory with a rally at the net, with Moutet failing to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
